Titanium Corp Receives The 2016 Award For Environmental Innovation At The Global Petroleum Show

June 13, 2016

CALGARY — June 13, 2016 — Titanium Corporation Inc. (“Titanium” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that the Company and its Creating Value from Waste™ (CVW™) technology have received the 2016 Award for Environment Innovation at the Global Petroleum Show held June 7-9, 2016 in Calgary, Alberta. The Global Petroleum Show brings together leading oil and gas companies, business partners and industry analysts from more than 84 countries annually.

The Global Petroleum Show Awards recognize leaders who drive change and evolution in the energy industry through technology, corporate social responsibility and excellence. The Environmental Innovation Award recognizes technological developments that minimize or eliminate the environmental footprint of the oil and gas industry.

“Our Company is honored to receive this prestigious award and to be recognized amongst finalists that are all achieving important environmental advancements,” commented Scott Nelson, President and Chief Executive Officer, Titanium Corporation Inc. “Together we are delivering new sustainable technologies that will support and strengthen our energy industry and Canada’s economy. Our team is committed to working collaboratively with industry and governments to move our technology forward to commercialization to support sustainable development of the oil sands.”

Titanium’s commercially ready CVW™ technology is designed to process and remediate oil sands froth treatment tailings before this stream reaches tailings ponds. CVW™ recovers lost bitumen, solvent and heavy minerals from this tailings stream, materially reducing fugitive greenhouse gas (GHG), volatile organic compound (VOC) and secondary organic aerosol (SOA) emissions related to oil sands tailings. The recovered commodities will improve resource sustainability, create additional economic value and diversification, and establish a new minerals production and export industry for Alberta and Canada. The Company has also received valuable grant funding and support from the Alberta and federal governments.

“I applaud Titanium Corporation for developing a made-in-Alberta technology that supports responsible development. The success of Creating Value from Waste™ technology demonstrates the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit that will make sure Alberta remains a global energy leader, one that will continue to grow, adapt and generate prosperity for generations to come,” commented The Honourable Margaret McCuaig-Boyd, Alberta’s Minister of Energy.

Titanium was selected from six finalists by a judging panel of 11 experts drawn from industry, technology firms, universities and government. The Company was nominated for this international award by Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC).

“SDTC is proud to have nominated Titanium Corporation,” commented Gillian Cartwright, Manager Public Affairs. “With SDTC’s support, Titanium Corporation is charting a path to truly deliver innovative environmental technology that reduces the environmental impact of oil sands bitumen production, leading to responsible natural resource development and lower carbon intensity.”

About Titanium Corporation Inc.

Titanium Corporation’s CVW™ technology provides sustainable solutions to reduce the environmental footprint of the oil sands industry. The Company’s technology reduces the environmental impact of oil sands tailings while economically recovering valuable products that would otherwise be lost. CVW™ recovers bitumen, solvents and minerals from tailings, preventing these commodities from entering tailings ponds and the atmosphere: volatile organic compound, greenhouse gas and secondary organic aerosol emissions are materially reduced; hot tailings water is improved in quality for recycling; and residual tailings can be thickened more readily. A new minerals industry will be created commencing with the production and export of zircon, an essential ingredient in ceramics. The Company’s shares trade on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol “TIC”. For more information, please visit the Company’s website at www.titaniumcorporation.com.
